Idaho’s leading newspaper says “One trapper’s barbarism reflects badly on Idaho”
Whether trapping is done for ‘sport’ or to keep certain animal numbers, the problem always remains; traps do not pick and choose who they snare, they aren’t made specifically for one animal they’re made to take whatever steps into the trap. They’re made by humans not to discriminate and they are inherently lethal and in the most horrible way. Why is this important to my topic? Well, Idaho just passed trapping as a constitutional right. What does this do? Now that it’s a constitutional right, if they trap an endangered species (like the wolf) they can say it’s a constitutional right, fighting the consequences for a very long time. Well, if they trap an endangered species it’s against the law so even if trapping is a constitutional right there will still be consequences. Please refer back to what I just wrote– you can use the excuse that trapping is your constitutional right and sense traps do not know the difference between a wolf and a wolverine, you could imagine what may happen and the crap that may go down.
That’s not even taking into consideration trapping is inherently cruel. While they say they kill instantly, just go to youtube and watch a few videos on it. It is not instant. Some animals suffer for hours to days– and some people want to use this as a form of predation to animals that are too abundant? Nothing deserves that fate.
